Scholarship Information
Thank you for your interest in the Wesley & Cornelius Wells Superior Service Scholarship. The scholarship's value up to $1,000 per school year, as determined by the Board of Directors and will be utilized by the recipient at an institution of higher learning of their choice.
Requirements:
African American high school senior graduating from DeQunicy High School located in DeQuincy, Louisiana
Minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average
Applicant must attend an institution of higher education within the following semester of their high school graduation.
Applicant must demonstrate exemplary academic achievements and leadership.
Applicant must actively serve within their community and church in the City of DeQuincy, Louisiana.
Applicant must be involved in extra-curricular activities throughout their high school years at DeQuincy High School.
Selection Process:
Applications must be submitted by the established deadline of April 16 of each year to be considered for this scholarship.
Applications should be submitted by mail by established deadline.
An independent selection committee, comprised of randomly appointed community leaders, will select the recipient of the scholarship.
The scholarship's recipient will be recognized at DeQuincy High School's Year- End Awards Program by an officer or member of the Wesley and Cornelius Wells Scholarship Foundation's Board of Directors.

Applications Submission Deadline: April 16, 2022
The Scholarship funds will be presented upon proof of enrollment in a continuing education institute of higher learning.
